Short biography
Shakib Al Hasan (born 24 March 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He is a left-handed middle-order batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner. An alumnus of Bangladesh Sports Education Institution (BKSP), Shakib made his debut in the Bangladesh jersey in 2006 with an ODI against Zimbabwe. He became the captain of Bangladesh in the first three formats in 2009. He was banned by the ICC for two years in 2019 for violating the ICC's anti-corruption rules, with a one-year ban waived after he pleaded guilty. He lost his leadership at that time. However, recently he returned to the responsibility of Test captain of Bangladesh national cricket team. Shakib has scored more than 11,000 runs in international cricket in three formats and has taken more than 600 wickets. He is the highest wicket taker for Bangladesh in all three formats. In January 2015, he became the first all-rounder in history to become the world's number one all-rounder in all three formats simultaneously. He became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 4,000 in ODIs and became the highest individual run scorer (217) in Tests on 13 January 2017. He became the second batsman of Bangladesh to complete 1000 runs in T20Is Besides, he scored 1000 runs and 50 wickets in T20 as the second all-rounder. In June 2019, he became the fastest player to take 5,000 runs and 250 wickets in just 199 matches
